Sara Schramm is an Atlanta injury attorney who was born and raised in Iowa Falls, Iowa by parents who were both public school educators and local small business owners.

She earned her undergraduate degrees in History and Spanish Literature from the University of Georgia.

No stranger to hard work, Sara worked for one of the largest New York City firms and during that time decided to attend Brooklyn Law School at night to earn her Juris Doctorate while working full-time. In fact, it was the ten years of legal experience prior to law school where Sara developed her passion for mass tort litigation.

Sara’s early years as a law clerk and lawyer started on the defense side of Multi-District Fen-Phen Diet Drug and Asbestos Litigations.

Before she transitioned to the plaintiff bar, Sara lived abroad for a year and then worked at the University of Georgia School of Law as a student advisor for three years during the 2009 recession. She has always specialized in toxic torts and mass tort cases involving defective drugs and medical devices.

Sara has deep leadership experience and community involvement. She is a past President of the Western Circuit Bar Association where she remains involved in Athens local bar activities.

She is also Past Chair of the Athens Community Connection, Samaritan Counseling Past President and she serves as a current member of the Athens Technical College Paralegal Advisory Board and Law Library Board of Trustees.

She just stepped down as Chair of the Athens Area Community Foundation where she still serves on that board as immediate past chair. She is a proud graduate of the 2023 American Association for Justice Leadership Academy.

Sara Speas Schramm is an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), where she currently serves on the Law Schools Committee and the Trial Lawyers Care Committee, with terms running through July 2026. She also continues her service on the Membership Oversight Committee through July 2027. Through these roles, Sara contributes to AAJ’s mission of advancing access to justice, supporting future generations of trial lawyers, and strengthening the organization’s membership community.

Sara served as a plaintiff leadership team for the In re: 3M Combat Arms Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2885 in the U.S.D.C. Northern District of Florida for the duration of that litigation from 2018-2023.

Sara is licensed to practice in New York and Georgia.

Sara lives just outside of Athens, Georgia with her husband of 30 years where they stay busy raising two boys who are active in high school and college tennis and cycling.

Fun fact: Sara rode on the UGA Equestrian Team and continues to ride horses and bikes in her free time.
